The Apokoronas municipality's summer fair: quality Cretan products, music, dancing and kids' activities at Papadakis Park in Georgioupoli.

Every summer the Municipality of Apokoronas fills Papadakis Park by the sea in Georgioupoli with the Agricultural August fair, a week of quality Cretan produce, local food and craft stalls, live music, traditional dancing and creative activities for children. It is a proper community celebration of what the land here produces, aimed at locals as much as visitors, and free to wander. Note that in 2026 it runs in late July rather than August, keeping its traditional name. A relaxed early-evening stroll with a raki in hand is the way to do it.
