Around the World on Two Wheels — Children's Theatre at Alikianos

Marina Panigyraki's interactive bike-ride round the world, played in a village schoolyard. Free, and pitched at children.

This is the sort of thing the Platanias villages do well and nobody outside them ever hears about. Marina Panigyraki's show is an interactive educational piece, not a sit-still-and-watch one: a girl sets off round the world on a bicycle and the children in the yard are pulled into the journey with her. Panigyraki performs it herself alongside Amalia Kotsadam. It runs in the yard of the Alikianos primary school, twenty minutes inland from the coast road, and entry is free, like everything in the municipality's Cultural Summer programme. Come at eight, bring something for the children to sit on, and stay for the walk back through the village afterwards.
