American pianist Mary-Victoria Voutsas performs Bach's masterworks in the Cretan mountains

Acclaimed pianist Mary-Victoria Voutsas, known from the Kennedy Center and concert halls worldwide, brings Bach's Goldberg Variations and French Suites to the Cretan mountains, technical brilliance carried with genuine heart. It unfolds by candlelight inside the historic stone church of Vlatos, a mountain village wrapped in olive groves in western Crete, where centuries-old walls give barely fifty unamplified seats a rare, natural warmth. It is a special evening at the Vlatos Music Hall, home of Vlatos Jazz 2026, whose season of intimate concerts runs from 28 June to 27 September, and a small bar serves honest Cretan food and drink made fresh on the night, before the show and at the interval. There are only about fifty seats, so book ahead.
