If you see one Cretan music act this summer, make it this. The Chainides have spent three decades turning Cretan tradition into something poetic and entirely their own; locals hold them somewhere between a band and a philosophy. They're joined by Kadinelia, the fast-rising acoustic duo whose raw takes on Greek folk have found audiences well beyond the island. The San Salvatore bastion at the western edge of the old town walls is an intimate, dramatic place to hear it all. 9pm start.
