Chamber Music IV — Contrasts & Convergences

Bartók's Contrasts, a Mustonen nonet and Weber's Clarinet Quintet, with Veriko Tchumburidze.

Clarinettist Spyros Mourikis is the thread running through this one. He opens with Bartók's Contrasts alongside violinist Veriko Tchumburidze, who won the Wieniawski competition at twenty, and pianist Enrico Pace, then closes the evening with Weber's sunny Clarinet Quintet. In between, twelve players give Olli Mustonen's second Nonet, the most contemporary thing on the whole festival programme. A properly adventurous bill and still €15.
