Chania Trails, the regional network reviving old footpaths across Apokoronas, Platanias, Kissamos, Kantanos-Selino and Sfakia, and operator Trace Your Eco run this five-day hiking trip through the Kantanos-Selino municipality in the far south-west, in partnership with the Region of Crete. The route strings together Ancient Aptera, Vamos and Gavalochori, the Agia Eirini and Fygou gorges, the historic Royal Road (part of the E4 trail), a swim in the Libyan Sea, and the Lissos Gorge with its ancient Asclepieion. Capped at 12 people, so it books out. This is the rare dated, bookable Outdoor event that isn't an evergreen resort excursion: a fixed departure with a real end date, in the region's most under-covered corner.
