Eleni Dimou at the Ancient Olive Tree of Vouves

Eleni Dimou sings under Kissamos stars beside the world's oldest olive tree, backed by lyra, piano, violin and lute.

Kissamos's cultural union brings Eleni Dimou to sing in the open courtyard by the Ancient Olive Tree of Vouves, one of the oldest living olive trees on earth and a genuine only-in-Crete setting for a concert. Isidoros Pateros joins her on vocals, guitar and lyra, with Giorgos Pagiatis on piano, Christina Paschali on violin and Stefanos Paterakis on lute, so this is a proper acoustic ensemble rather than a backing track. The Vouves cultural association, Municipality of Platania and Region of Crete all co-organise, which is usually a sign the evening is taken seriously locally rather than aimed at passing tourists.
