A Child Counts the Stars: family theatre at Ellinis

Menelaos Loudemis's classic on stage for families at the Ellinis, Sunday 11 October, 12:00 and 17:00. In Greek, €13.

Menelaos Loudemis wrote A Child Counts the Stars about a poor village boy who refuses to stop learning, and it has been a school-shelf favourite in Greece for generations. Giannis Christopoulos's children's company brings Alexandros Rigas's stage adaptation to the Ellinis, the old cinema-theatre on Tzanakaki Street, billed as a show for the whole family rather than only the little ones. There are two performances on Sunday 11 October, at 12:00 and 17:00, so pick the one that suits the day. Tickets are €13 on more.com, and the play is performed in Greek.
