4 Seasons in the Municipality of Platanias — Group Exhibition

Twenty-seven painters and photographers on the villages, monuments and light of Platanias. Free, and it runs a month.

Almost everything on offer in Platanias in August is aimed at people who will be gone in a week. This is not. The municipality asked twenty-seven artists, locals and foreign residents together, to paint and photograph their own patch across the four seasons, and the result is the inland Platanias that visitors drive past: the stone villages, the chapels, the winter light on the Lefka Ori, the olive terraces in rain. It hangs in the Polykentro at Voukolies, a proper market village about twenty minutes up from the coast road, and it is worth the detour on a day you have had enough of the beach. Entry is free and it runs until 11 September, so there is no rush. Opening night is Wednesday 12 August at 19:30. Note the daytime hours are mornings only, and the evening slot runs Monday to Wednesday.
