The Blue Trail — Cine Kipos

Gabriel Mascaro's Amazon road movie, two nights at the open-air Kipos cinema. Box office only.

A 77 year old woman refuses her forced retirement, slips her monitoring and heads off up the Amazon after something of her own. Gabriel Mascaro's 2025 Brazilian film is tender and completely unbiddable, and at 85 minutes it does not outstay itself. It screens two nights at the Kipos, the municipal open-air cinema in the Municipal Garden, which is one of the great summer pleasures of Chania and works just as well in September. Tickets are sold at the theatre box office only, so turn up rather than trying to book.
