Giorgis Manousakis: A Tribute Evening at "O Chrysostomos"
The Philological Society "O Chrysostomos", founded 1899, honours philologist, writer and poet Giorgis Manousakis. In Greek.
The Philological Society "O Chrysostomos", founded in 1899 and with its own hall at Halidon 83, continues its series "Honouring Chania and its people" with an evening dedicated to Giorgis Manousakis, philologist, writer and poet. Three speakers take the floor: Tasoula Markomichelaki, associate professor of Modern Greek Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; Angeliki Karathanasi-Manousaki, philologist and writer; and Michalis Virvidakis, director and playwright. It is a quiet, serious, very Chaniot sort of night, the kind of event where the town's literary memory gets passed on in person. The talks are in Greek and start at 19:30.
