Ioulia Karapataki — Summer '26
Rebetiko and laïko in the old army camp, with the band that has followed her all summer. Doors 20:00.
Ioulia Karapataki closes the Chania summer at Markopoulou Park, the old army camp that has become the city's main open-air stage. She comes off a winter of sold-out nights in Athens and Thessaloniki and a run of shows beside Sokratis Malamas, and the programme leans on exactly that: rebetiko, the old laïko repertoire she loves, new songs she is recording now, and the pieces Malamas and Odysseas Ioannou wrote for her. Behind her is a full band, with Agis Papapanagiotou on guitars, Kalogiannis Veranis on violin and trumpet, and Christos Anastasiadis on gaida and clarinet. Doors open at 20:00 for a 21:00 start, tickets are €17 in advance and €20 on the night, and children under 10 go free. Bring something to sit on if you like the back of the field.
