Cretan Glenti at Kerameia — Nikos Gonianakis

Nikos Gonianakis leads a village glenti on the Gerolakkos football pitch in Kerameia, €5 on the door.

The cultural association of Gerolakkos, «Κερά-Μια», turns its village football pitch into a dance floor for one August night. Nikos Gonianakis takes the microphone from 21:00, and the appeal here is exactly that it isn't staged for visitors: plastic chairs on the touchline, a bar table for tsikoudia, and Kerameia's own families out for their yearly glenti a few minutes inland from Chania town. Entry is €5 at the gate; call 6977125653 if you want to check numbers first. Bring something to sit on if you want a spot with a view of the band.
