Kipos Open-Air Cinema — Summer Programme

Films under the palm trees of the Municipal Garden, every night until late September. €5, and pure old-world magic.

The Kipos cinema has been showing films in the Municipal Garden since 1907, and a warm night here, palm trees overhead, a beer from the kiosk, swallows crossing the screen at dusk, is one of the most quietly perfect things you can do in Chania. The summer programme runs nightly until 20 September, mixing new releases, arthouse picks and family films, most in original language with Greek subtitles. Screenings at 9:30pm (9pm from late July). Tickets €5, reduced €2. Cheaper than a cocktail, better than most of them.
