The Glenti That Unites Us — Kolymvari

The fifteenth of August is the one night the whole island is out, and Kolymvari's is on the football pitch. Giorgos Frantzeskakis and Stelios Vamvakas are two of the names that fill village yards across Chania, and putting them on the same bill is why the poster calls it the glenti that unites us. Seven euros in, which is the going rate for a club-run night and about a third of what a beach club charges for a DJ. A pitch sounds unromantic and is in fact ideal: flat, huge, and it takes the crowd that turns up on Dekapentavgoustos without anyone queuing for a table. Start is 21:30 and it will run very late.
