Kostas Makedonas Sings Mikis Theodorakis

Kostas Makedonas closes the Mikis Theodorakis Festival with a free evening of the composer's best-loved songs at the East Moat.

This is the closing night of Chania's four day tribute to Mikis Theodorakis, a hundred and one years after his birth, and the city hands it to Kostas Makedonas, one of the few voices with the weight to do the songbook justice. Expect the big, communal ones, sung by a crowd that half of Chania seems to know by heart. Christiana Galiatsou joins him. It is free, it is outdoors at the East Moat, and doors tend to fill early for a night like this, so come ahead of 20:30 if you want a seat rather than a standing spot at the back.
