Chrysanthos Makrakis and Nikos G. Manioudakis take the yard at Kalaitzos, a coffee-and-snack place out on the Tavronitis to Paleochora road, and play the west of the prefecture the way it likes to be played. Manos Fioretzis and Dimitris Chatzakis are on laouto, Giorgos Makrakis on wind and percussion. Music starts at 22:00, which is late even by Cretan standards, so eat before you come or eat there. Reservations on 6982779394 and they are worth making, because these roadside nights pull people in from every village around. Roughly 40 minutes west of Chania, and there is no public transport back.
