Ochi Day is a public holiday, and in Chania the parade is usually followed by a long lunch with music. Salavantes, a garden restaurant and bar in Kalamaki that has been going since 1961, is turning the afternoon into a daytime Cretan glenti with Giorgos Manolioudis and Stelios Bikakis. It starts at 14:00 on Wednesday 28 October, and the €25 entry includes the full set menu, so come hungry and settle in.
