Masha and the Bear — A Big Celebration
The licensed stage version of the cartoon, on tour from Greece to the East Moat Theatre for one night only.
This is the officially licensed stage version of the Animaccord cartoon, not a lookalike, which is why the costumes are the ones you have seen on screen. Tamilla Kuliyeva directs, Charis and Agni Chioti wrote it, Giorgos Kostogiorgis did the music, and the whole thing tours dozens of Greek towns from July through to November. Chania gets one night. If your child knows Masha, they will know the bear, the squirrel, the rabbit and the two wolves on sight, and that recognition is most of the pleasure. It is performed in Greek, though a three-year-old who watches the cartoon dubbed will follow it perfectly well anyway. Tickets start at €13, the curtain is 20:30, and the East Moat Theatre is open air with stone tiers.
