Mathimata Zois (Life Lessons): Free Mental-Health Talk at the Grand Arsenal
Child psychiatrist Thanasis Chatzopoulos on what stops us enjoying life. Free, in Greek, register online. Sun 25 Oct, 18:00, Grand Arsenal.
The touring Mathimata Zois evenings, which have filled halls across Greece, reach Chania on Sunday 25 October with a free open talk in the Grand Arsenal on the harbour, home of the Centre for Mediterranean Architecture. The question on the table is a big one: what stops us living a life we enjoy? The main speaker is Thanasis Chatzopoulos, child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst and honorary doctor of the University of Athens, with journalist Anna Drouza hosting, and the format leaves a good half hour for questions from the floor. Doors are at 17:30, the welcome at 18:00, the talk from 18:15 and it wraps up at 20:00. It is in Greek, it is run by the IASIS NGO under the Municipality's auspices, and entry is free but you need to register for a seat on the organiser's page.
