Borderline (Methorios) — Contemporary Art at the Grand Arsenal
Thirty members of the Cretan artists' union Neorion Technis show new work in the Grand Arsenal. Daily 09:00–21:00, 18 Oct to 1 Nov.
The Pancretan visual artists' association Neorion Technis takes over the Grand Arsenal on the harbour with Borderline, a group show by thirty of its members, curated by art historian Dimitra Georgoudaki and co-organised with the Regional Unit and the Municipality of Chania. Names regulars of the Chania art scene will recognise are on the list, Konstantina Peratsaki and Manolis Karatarakis among them. The Arsenal is half the reason to go anyway, a Venetian shipyard right on the water at the end of the old port. It is open every day from 09:00 to 21:00 between Sunday 18 October and Sunday 1 November, and entry is free, so it slots easily into an evening walk round the harbour. The opening night is Sunday 18 October at 19:00.
