Storytelling, old-fashioned games and dementia awareness for children, in the Municipal Garden. Free.

The Chania Alzheimer Day Centre takes over a corner of the Municipal Garden for a morning built around a difficult subject handled gently. A specially chosen story and some simple exercises introduce children to dementia in terms they can actually hold, and around that sit games from an earlier era and a look at what school used to be like. The point is the conversation between generations rather than the lecture, and grandparents are as much the audience as the children. It marks World Alzheimer's Month, run with the Region of Crete and the Municipality. Free, and it starts at 10.
