Panigyri on the Eve of Agios Ioannis Rigologos — Fournados, Gramvousa
Village panigyri on the eve of Agios Ioannis, in a hamlet on the Gramvousa peninsula. Starts after vespers.
One of the small ones, in a hamlet on the Gramvousa peninsula that most visitors drive straight past on the way to the beach. The Gramvousa cultural association holds its panigyri on the eve of Agios Ioannis Rigologos, and the poster is refreshingly blunt about the timing: it begins after vespers, which in practice means once the church empties and the tables are set. Antonis Tsatsaronakis plays violin, with Lefteris Doundoulakis and Ilias Androulakis on laouto. Nothing about this is staged for visitors, which is the whole appeal, but it also means you should go expecting Greek to be the only language in the yard. No clock time and no entry price have been published.
