Twenty vanishing Cretan trades, photographed, with QR codes to the craftspeople telling it themselves. Free.

Twenty traditional Cretan trades, most of them close to disappearing, photographed by Michalis Kalaitzakis for the Municipality of Chania. What lifts it above a wall of nice pictures is the QR code beside each one: scan it and the craftsperson in the photograph explains the work in their own words. It lives in the Russian Barracks, a restored building off Meletiou Piga that the municipality now runs as a home for intangible heritage, and it hosts workshops and talks alongside the photographs. Entry is free and it is open daily. A quiet half hour, and the most concentrated look at old working Crete you will find in the city.
