A small Apokoronas village night with two names that carry real weight among Cretan players, Kyriakos Piperakis on the lyra and Kyriakos Stavrianoudis alongside him. Entry is five euros. Machairoi is a handful of houses inland from the Georgioupoli road, and nothing about the evening is dressed up for visitors, which is precisely why it is worth the detour if you want to hear this music the way it is actually played rather than in a hotel show.
