Five euros in the primary school yard on the eve of the Dormition, ten minutes from the resort strip and nothing like it.

If you are staying in Platanias and have spent the week on the strip, this is the night to walk inland instead. The village glenti runs in the primary school yard with Nikos, Zinos and Stelios Peroulakis playing, and it costs five euros. It starts at ten, which is late even by local standards, and that is because nobody is going home early on the eve of the Dormition. It is the cheapest and easiest way to see what the village actually does when it is not selling cocktails to tourists.
