Alexandros Psychoulis — I Was Only Endangered by Uncontrolled Thoughts

Forty years of one of Greece's sharpest artists, 150+ works. Free every Tuesday, otherwise €5.

Psychoulis has spent four decades picking at the seam between the city street and the screen, and this is the big retrospective: more than 150 works, paintings, installations, animation, comics, sculpture, and the notebooks and rough sketches that usually stay in the studio. Curator Christoforos Marinos has deliberately refused a tidy chronological march through the career, letting language, the handmade and the digital argue with each other across the rooms instead. It fills the Municipal Art Gallery on Chalidon, a restored 1910 building, and it is the most substantial art show in Chania this summer. Two practical things: it opens daily 10:00 to 14:00 with an extra evening slot 18:00 to 21:00 from Tuesday to Saturday, and entry is free every Tuesday, otherwise €5, or €2 reduced.
